Sorry for the lack of words. If anyone reading this right now actually cares. I’ve been quite busy, getting up very early1 and going to class and going to work again. I have barely even logged into this thing since New Years. So let me tell you what’s been going on, shall I?
As I’m sure you’ve already noticed, I’ve downloaded a footnotes plugin so that I can feel very scholarly, or like DFW, or like my blog is the novel House of Leaves. I’m not sure if I will use it or how long I will even remember that I have it. But it’s cool.
Jocelyn2 is visiting tonight, actually on the bus, confusedly trying to find her way here. I need to go pick her up soon. She and Evan3 will be here for the next hectic seven days while I’m busy both working and schooling as well as trying to keep them entertained.
Class is pretty sweet this quarter. The whole waking-up-before-the-sun-is-up thing gets old really quickly. But the professors make these classes tolerable. I think they’ll end up actually being quite nice. Even with the absurdly early meeting times.
Also, it’s not bad being back at work and making money again. I’m working more hours this quarter than last, so my schedule has rounded out as extremely busy. But I think I will have it more under control than last quarter.4
- Seven o’clock in the am, to be precise. Bright and early, if the sun were even out at that hour. [↩]
- A friend from MA who, if you’ll notice, also has a blog. [↩]
- Her boyfriend. [↩]
- As it turns out, because of my crazy schedule fall quarter and not having a normal eating schedule, I’ve lost a staggering ten pounds, which I now must try to gain back. [↩]

Before I read all of your blog, I noticed the foot notes and thought to myself, ‘that is very DFW of him’ and lo and behold, there you were, noting it yourself. How was that for a run on sentence? And I was a but worried, as there wasn’t a new blog detailing your happenings after New Years. And I’m done.
Haha, I’m not really sure yet whether footnotes are just silly on a blog (I mean, you can link to whatever your referencing—an impossibility in print). But I like having the option anyway.
After New Years was over I walked back to my apartment from the Space Needle and pretty much went to sleep. Then in the days following I mostly read A Supposedly Fun Thing I’ll Never Do Again and played XBox 360.
It wasn’t super blog worthy in my opinion. Also, my blogging simply kind of tapered briefly there. But I think I’m back now.
I totally got A Supposedly Fun Thing I’ll Never Do Again (pretend it’s in italics) from my teacher, whom of which I was doing the Infinite Jest (same deal) independent study with. Cool beans. And no, I don’t plan on using ‘cool beans’ in regular conversation.
I got a bunch of Wallace for Christmas, and afterwards I bought Broom of the System at Borders. So I almost have it all.
I absolutely loved reading E Unibus Pluram in A Supposedly Fun Thing. It struck me at how quick and easy and generally followable his very high academic philosophical logic is.
Oh, and don’t worry about cool beans. It’s totally cool beans if you use cool beans in conversation.
